Abstract

The acculturation of critical terms between Arabic and the Western academia allowed Arab critics to open up to other nations’ knowledge, get influenced by it and utilize it by considering the terms as a key tool for understanding the concept and its linguistic, conceptual and procedural mastery. The adaptation of foreign terms can be achieved through the implementation of: derivation, metaphor, coining, Arabization and translation, which help explaining the meaning of many concepts expressed in vague and odd terms such as the term of ‘deconstruction’ that was used in Arab criticism long after its first use in Western criticism and have created multiple critical visions, through which critics aimed to find its appropriate linguistic equivalent on the one hand and determine its meaning on the other hand.
