Keywords:

In an attempt to advocate for committed Islamic cinema that represents the ethical human being and provides a mental image that helps him reach a better version of himself, this paper examines some of the efforts of Iranian cinema to achieve this "Islamization" through commitment. We have focused on the presence of women in this cinema as actresses, directors, and portrayals of subjects that concern them. Since one of our main objectives is to understand the trajectory of women in Iranian cinema, especially contemporary cinema, and to highlight the aspects of commitment accompanying this presence, we have employed descriptive methodology tools including induction and analysis, along with semiotic analysis of the films "The Third Day" (2007) and "Leila's Brothers" (2022) to extract the manifestations of women's commitment in them. The paper concludes with findings, most notably: that the choice of Iranian cinema to be a committed realistic Islamic cinema presents a significant challenge in how women are depicted, as they represent a large part of this commitment. Consequently, certain frameworks have been established to regulate their appearance, along with allowing them to embody roles that enhance awareness of the role of women in Iranian society.
